Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll gave his second-year quarterback the keys to the offense in the first half by letting Josh Allen run the no-huddle. The gameplan worked, they successfully moved the ball up and down the field but shot themselves in the foot with four turnovers. Luckily, the Bills defense kept the game close and the away team went into the half only down 6-0.
"You’re going to have some times where things aren’t going great," stated Daboll in his press conference on Monday, were they down? No, we weren’t down, we were moving the ball. With the game still within reach, the offensive staff still had confidence in their signal caller and continued with their plan.
Josh Allen is "a grinder. He’s a competitor, smart and tough" Coordinator Daboll stated, "and I got a lot of faith in him." Allen remained poised and led a comeback win which included going 8-for-10 for 102 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter to walk away from MetLife Stadium with a 17-16 win over the Jets.
